Five things you should know about the Ambiente Trends 25+

They are a fixed institution – and yet they never cease to surprise. This time, too, the Ambiente Trends are once again providing absolutely indispensable insights into current trends in the areas of materials, colours, shapes and technologies, based on worldwide research. Five things you should definitely know about the Ambiente Trends 25+.

The Ambiente Trends are developed annually by the renowned design studio Stilbüro bora.herke.palmisano. Inspired by international trends in fashion, art and lifestyle, as well as by young and established designers, they have developed a particularly optimistic perspective on future living and working environments for the coming year and beyond. Here are a few exclusive insights into what you can experience live at the upcoming Ambiente as part of the special presentation.

1. Calmness, sustainability and joy

DEEP, REAL, EASE. Three terms with only four letters each. The trend experts sum up the Ambiente Trends 25+ more succinctly and concisely than ever. It’s about tranquility and nature in living, sustainable product development as well as lightness and joy in life. The design drivers for this are traditional craftsmanship, new materials, the idea of circular economy, inspirations from the textile world and innovative technologies.

Simple and natural: DEEP

2. Optimism as the connecting element

The three different sub-trends are united by an optimistic attitude. The key to positive change lies in creativity and design – and thus in the hands of designers who are willing to experiment. The focus is on intense designs and joyful ideas that challenge norms and allow us to see the familiar with fresh eyes. It’s a great time to let go of the old and try out the new.

Designed to be sustainable: REAL

3. Three styles with clear attributes

DEEP stands for the profound longing for a personal refuge. The central aspects are craftsmanship, nature and designs inspired by elements such as water and fire. Colours like midnight blue, ecru or green tea create an atmospheric effect when combined with a metallic shimmer.

REAL reflects the desire to make the world more sustainable. Meaningful products meet unfamiliar perspectives, simple design meets avant-garde. Perfect surfaces and new, recyclable materials are strikingly presented. The unobtrusive colour scheme ranges from deep bottle green to mint, caramel and orange-red to dark grey.

EASE creates an ambience of lightness and joy. In this trend you will find many textile inspirations, including embroidery, patchwork and 3D knitting techniques. Fruity tones such as orange, lemon and plum together with sky blue, sea green and sweet cherry wood create a good mood.

Light and open-minded: EASE

4. Colours and topics for the whole year and all festivities

For each sub-trend, nine colours with eight micro-colour themes allow for individual highlights that can be varied again and again throughout the year. The concentrated colour stories open up a wide range of options for retailers, designers and planners to design products, ranges, product presentations or showrooms in an innovative and creative way. All trends also apply to Christmasworld, which is taking place at the same time as Ambiente, and thus to seasonal and festive decorations. This means that product ranges and presentations can be perfectly coordinated.

5. Experience trends with all your senses
